Peoria Opportunities Foundation and Peoria Partners
The Peoria Opportunities Foundation was initially established by the Peoria Housing Authority in 1999 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. In 2008, it transitioned into an independent organization. Its purpose is developing affordable housing with emphasis on developing self-sufficiency and economic wealth for low-income families and individuals. The primary mission of Peoria Opportunities Foundation is to be a catalyst for positive change resulting in community revitalization. Peoria Opportunities achieves this goal by both crafting affordable housing solutions and engaging in broad-based community organizing efforts, through Peoria Partners, a community organizing group made up of various entities, including Glen Oak Christian Church, who want to make positive systemic change in the city of Peoria. Peoria Opportunities Foundation’s offices are housed at Glen Oak Christian Church.
